About EarlyLearner

EarlyLearner is a product of SchoolSuccess, the market leader in delivering online assessment and curriculum solutions to the early childhood field. Our technology offers valid, research-backed assessment tools and delivers them in practical, easy ways to help programs fulfill a myriad of requirements, including mandated outcomes reporting and professional development.

What Makes Us Different

Our child development tools and activities are based on 30 years of research by our education partner: the esteemed High/Scope® Educational Research Foundation. Founded in 1970, the High/Scope® Foundation is an independent nonprofit research, development, training, and public advocacy organization located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Foundation's principal goals are:

  • to promote the learning and development of children worldwide from infancy through adolescence
  • to support and train educators and parents as they help children learn

In a High/Scope program, students learn through active involvement with people, materials, events, and ideas. The High/Scope Child Observation Record (COR), a learning assessment tool called simply the Observation on this site, was created to help parents, teachers, and other education experts chart a child's development by summarizing observations of that child's behavior over several months.

Our Learning Philosophy

You've undoubtedly heard that young children need certain "skills" to be successful in school and life. Every child is born with an eagerness to learn and curiosity about the world. At EarlyLearner, we help you tap into that curiosity to support children's natural development during the critical years of 2-6.

As parents and educators, we believe:

  • learning is a wonderful, rich process for children, families, and teachers
  • development is not a race, but rather an exciting journey that unfolds over a whole lifetime
  • growth can best be supported in young children through "active play"
  • by providing little ones with engaging and active experiences, the skills they need for success will follow
